Michael,

Jodi Dean's "Blog Theory: Feedback and Capture in the Circuits of Drive" is an excellent book on the topic.

Let me also suggest our paper "The post as an utterance: Analysis of themes, compositional forms and styles in blog genre studies". It will be published in the next issue of Discourse & Communication. But it may already be downloaded here: http://dcm.sagepub.com/content/early/2013/06/17/1750481313487623.abstract

Best,

Alex Primo
