[Air-L] SOS: want to randomly fill address field in a spreadsheet

Hello,
I think it depends a lot on what you want your sample to be. Should it be evenly distributed in terms of geographic area, in terms of population, etc.?
Possible approaches may be:
- Generate random GPS coordinates then use some reverse geocoding service (I think Google does it)
- Use public open data, such as the areas covered by voting locations
- Parse the Open Street Map database for a certain type of amenities
I think it varies from country to country. In the UK, the Post Office database has all addresses and can be licensed, but I don't know about equivalents elsewhere.

thanks but my concerns is that:
1) how to pick a list of postal addresses corresponding to a given area or
city (from a map)
2) and then randomly choose some of them to fill my
excel column of addresses
