Dear all,

The following ESRC funded seminar series, Breaking Boundaries, may be of interest to some people. It's based at Oxford University but the seminars will also be live streamed (http://breakingboundariesoxford.org/?page_id=414).

BREAKING BOUNDARIES SEMINAR SERIES: Begins Thursday 30th January
The Breaking Boundaries seminar series brings together researchers, policy makers and practitioners to discuss the notion that information communication technologies can be used to break down boundaries to learning and participation in society.
Funded by the ESRC and coordinated by research students at the Department of Education and the Oxford Internet Institute, Breaking Boundaries will provide an interdisciplinary forum to engage with important contemporary themes in three linked seminars:

  * Digital communities - Dr Jonathan Tummons (University of Durham) and James Richardson (Tinder Foundation): Thursday 30th January; 5-6.30pm; Department of Education
  * Broadening access - Professor Grainne Conole (Director of the Institute of Learning Innovation at the University of Leicester), Dr Rebecca Eynon (Research Fellow at the OII and Lecturer in the Department of Education at the University of Oxford), and Sarah Porter (Visitor at the OII): Thursday 20th February; 5-6.30pm; Oxford Internet Institute
  * ICT for Development - Dr Niall Winters (Reader in Learning Technologies at the London Knowledge Lab): Thursday 13th March; 5-6.30pm; Department of Education

Come along and join the debate!
