*LEHIGH UNIVERSITY*: The Department of Journalism & Communication invites
applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position dedicated to
research and teaching on how digital and mobile media are transforming
global and community life in arenas such as politics, culture, migration,
health, environment or others. An ability to teach multimedia, digital or
visual classes in journalism is preferred. The candidate should also have
relevant professional experience. A Ph.D. is required by appointment start
date.

The position is a joint appointment between the department and the
university’s Globalization and Social Change Initiative. Broad,
interdisciplinary approaches are welcome. Preference is for candidates with
depth of experience in a particular region of the world with knowledge of
language and culture that enriches their research and teaching.



The candidate will teach two courses per semester, advise students,
participate in departmental and program service, and conduct an active
research program. Salary and benefits are highly competitive. The
department has offered a small undergraduate program of superior quality
since 1927. It has eight full-time faculty. With major and minor programs
in journalism, science and environmental writing, and mass communication,
it enrolls about 160 majors and minors. The Globalization and Social Change
Initiative has supported the popular interdisciplinary major, Global
Studies, since 2006. Participating faculty are drawn from throughout the
