I forward a message from The Dean of the Faculty of „Artes Liberales”, University of Warsaw, who is awaiting applications for this special position at the university here, in Poland.

The Dean of the Faculty of „Artes Liberales“, University of Warsaw in cooperation with the President of the Kosciuszko Foundation, Inc. invite applications for the position of the Kosciuszko Foundation Visiting Professor. The position is co-sponsored by the Kosciuszko Foundation, Inc. and the University of Warsaw.

Founded in 1925, the Kosciuszko Foundation promotes closer ties between Poland and the United States through educational, scientific and cultural exchanges. It awards fellowships and grants to graduate students, scholars, scientists, professionals, and
artists, and promotes Polish culture in American.

The appointment will be for five months in the academic year 2015/16, either in Fall (from October 1, 2015 to February 28, 2016) or in Spring (from February 1, 2016 –June 30, 2016). The professorship is open to American senior scholars from U.S.
universities with accomplishments in humanities, social sciences or natural sciences.

No knowledge of Polish is required. The visiting professor will be appointed in the Collegium „Artes Liberales“ which is a part of the Faculty of “Artes Liberales” and offers courses to all students of the University of Warsaw. The Collegium has developed a unique program inspired by the curricula of U.S. colleges of liberal arts and sciences and seeks to restore awareness of the affinities between the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences, and to nurture creative thinking and civic responsibility.
