[Air-L] Content websites research

Dear AoIR,

I'm looking for research papers that study content websites as a concept
(or discuss the problems with conceptualizing it) or an industry. While
there are many UGC papers, online journalism/news or works on specific
websites (Youtube, Flicker...) I did some research two years ago writing my
last paper on the subject but couldn't find many works that analyze or
provide an overview or the notion of the content website in the internet,
or to their history or changes in strategy and technological framework
overtime.  I thought I'll give it a retry with this great community.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
