This webinar explores three related sets of issues of great significance
for our field during the 21st century. Professor Subramony will explore
equitable access to the emancipatory potential of educational and
communications technologies (ECT) and the social and cultural impact of ECT
adoption and use upon diverse stakeholder groups across the nation and the
globe. Mr. Heggart will focus in on a global citizenship program, Justice
Citizens, that sought to develop active citizenship amongst high school
students via the use of critical pedagogy and technology rich environments.
This program facilitated participants’ ability to develop social and
professional networks as well as a range of technology related skills
related to global citizenship.
