Dear All,

Thank you for this very helpful and interesting discussion!

For the tools that require use of an Internet site -- What privacy issues
have you encountered? Like most of you (all of us?), I want to be very
careful about protection of both content and identity of
informants/participants.

thanks,

Hi,

This blogpost on the CASTAC blog and its comments may also help decide
which QDA software to choose:

Hi Andrew,

I use MAXQDA <http://www.maxqda.com/> and have found it be quite flexible
for coding all types of files, including audio and video. It accommodates
mixed methods work, and has some basic visualization tools too.

I recently had an undergraduate student use it for a research project as
well, and she reported that it is quite intuitive and easy to learn. Free
trials are available through the website.

Cheers,

Kelly

Dear AOIRistas

I am about to a deep dive into a set of ethnographic interviews and was
wondering if people would be willing to share their experiences and
preferences with different software packages. My only experience is with
QSR Nudist and Qualrus, neither of which was a happy time.

Thanks

Andrew
