I've read and used two of what you ask:

EM Forster, "The Machine Stops" is great--and short.
Wonderful antidote to SV hype.

RUR is stilted, old--good for us to get a historical sense, but I don't 
think students would relate. I'd rather show "Ex Machina" Or read a chunk 
of Asimov's _The Naked Sun_
