Job vacancy:
User Services Senior Office, UK Data Archive
The Administrative Data Service (ADS) is seeking to appoint a User Services Senior Officer to develop and deliver the Data and User Services function of the ADS and provide support for users of the Administrative Data Research Network.
The successful candidate will provide front line support for users of the Administrative Data Research Network on queries relating to data acquisition, linking, access, processing and reporting. They will also support applicants to the Network and will be responsible for working with data owners to arrange the provision of data for individual research projects. This will involve negotiating to secure data provision and acting as an advocate for researchers whilst navigating government data access processes.
Among other skills and experience the successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree, or equivalent, in a relevant data-using discipline. They will have excellent written and spoken communication, negotiation skills and experience with sensitive data.
An appreciation of researchers' data needs and requirements will be essential; experience of supporting data users is also desirable.
This post involves access to Government systems, information or data and will be subject to the staff vetting process. Further information can found in the Recruitment Pack.
