PROJECT MANAGERGLOBAL CONSTITUTIONALISM AND THE INTERNETStarting now, the
Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) is seeking
a highly motivated project manager for the research department "Global
Constitutionalism and the Internet" headed by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Ingolf
Pernice. The project manager (75% TVL 14 - for suitably qualified
applicants, plus family, literature and travel expenses, initially limited
to one year with an option of extending) will act as administrative and
academic head of the Global Constitutionalism and the Internet team, with a
specific focus on the legal aspects of the transformative effects that the
Internet (especially IoT) will have on public governance/eGovernment. This
project will be completed together with researchers from the
Internet-enabled Innovation department.

*YOUR TASKS WILL INCLUDE:*

   -

   Independent research in the area of Internet and public governance or
   eGovernment, including research about the Internet of Things and
   organisational transformation processes in the fields of innovation and IT
   regulation
   -

   Leadership of the research team (researchers, student assistants, guest
   researchers), supervision of doctoral theses in the research department as
   well as budgetary responsibilities for the department in close coordination
   with the responsible director
   -

   Monitoring of funding lines and calls for proposals, raising of
   third-party funding by contributing to public calls for proposals or by
   supporting the fundraising activities at HIIG
   -

   Ongoing publication of academic articles in relevant journals, but also
   design of conference contributions as well as formats for knowledge
   transfer to a broader public, e.g. events, blog posts etc.
   -

   Maintenance and expansion of the existing academic networks of the
   institute in the relevant subject area

*WHAT WE EXPECT:*

   -

   The basic requirements are the completion of legal practice examinations
   with honors and an excellent legal doctor’s degree, preferably in the area
   of public law, with openness to interdisciplinarity
   -

   A deep interest in transdisciplinary research on the Internet and in the
   field "IoT & Government transformation" as well as the ability to identify
   and use links to other fields of expertise
   -

   Experience in project/research management and in raising third-party
   funding
   -

   Some initial experience in human resources management, in motivating and
   governing project teams as well as very good communication skills
   -

   Openness to international academic collaboration, ideally supported by
   relevant international experience
   -

   Ideally, you should possess professional experience in the field of
   digital transformation processes
   -

   An outstanding capacity to work independently, creative drive, sense of
   responsibility, motivation, ability to work in a team, communication skills
   -

   Excellent German and English skills are absolutely required
