The University of Arizona and the School of Information seeks a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor with a strong record of research in human-computer interaction science to begin in mid August, 2016. We are seeking a candidate with a record of HCI research and are especially interested in candidates with experience in either web or game design, interactive systems, virtual/augmented reality platforms, display technologies, and related user research. Applicants with research foci on issues of design or analysis of gaming systems utilized across contexts such as health and education, or those that work on games involving astronomical or geographical data are of particular interest. Experience in academic leadership roles (e.g., program supervision, administrative duties within an academic unit) is preferred but not required for the position.
This position will include teaching responsibilities at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful applicant will have ideally developed a strong track record of excellence in teaching and academic citizenry. Experience with interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary/transdisciplinary funded grant teams is desired.The School of Information is an academic department and a professional school in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Arizona, the state’s only public land grant university.
