[Air-L] Strength and weakness of each type of social media for ethnographic research

Dear all,

Our research team, mostly based at the Political Science Department of Université de Montréal, is conducting a research projet on informal modes of political participation as part of which we intend to use social media as sites of ethnographic research. We are looking for references on the (dis)advantages of each social media (eg. Facebook, Snapshat, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) for that type of research from a qualitative methodological point a view. Can some of you think of and point useful ones?
