On behalf of the editorial team at Internet Research, I invite submissions to a special issue on The Dark Side of Social Media.
The aim of this special issue is to deepen and broaden the current understanding of negative aspects of social media in order to better understand, control, mitigate, and prevent its undesirable consequences.
The scope covers all platforms and services that are typically considered social media (Kaplan and Haenlein 2010) as well as emerging digital technologies such as virtual/augmented reality applications and wearable technologies that interlink with social media. The level of analysis can be individual, group/organization, or society at a large.
