Two Tenure-Track Positions in Communication and Media Studies at Fordham University (NYC)
The Department of Communication and Media Studies <http://www.fordham.edu/cms> at Fordham University, The Jesuit University of New York, invites applications for the tenure-track position to commence September 1, 2017. These positions will contribute to our new undergraduate major in Digital Technologies and Emerging Media <http://www.fordham.edu/info/25795/digital_technologies_and_emerging_media>, the interdisciplinary program in New Media and Digital Design <http://www.fordham.edu/info/20709/new_media_and_digital_design>, our new Masters in Public Media <http://www.fordham.edu/info/20770/master_of_arts_in_public_media> as well as to Fordham’s program in American Studies. We ask that applicants apply to only ONE position via Interfolio: applications for both positions will be reviewed by a joint, interdisciplinary committee. Applications for both positions are due on October 10, 2016.
Assistant Professor, Digital Storytelling: We are looking for a specialist in digital storytelling, ideally with an emphasis on social justice and/or civic media. The successful candidate would specialize in transmedia and interactive storytelling, multi-platform narratives, participatory and community-based media design, sustainable data preservation, or visualizing data from qualitative and/or quantitative sources. Applied digital production skills are highly desirable. The candidate should have a robust research agenda, evidence of teaching excellence, and the ability to contribute to Fordham’s Jesuit core curriculum. Although the position will be based at our Lincoln Center campus, responsibilities involve potential teaching at the Rose Hill campus. Ph.D. required by June 30, 2017 in communication, media studies or a related field.
