Hello,

We have a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional student to work with a really outstanding team of researchers here at QUT's Digital Media Research Centre (DMRC). The scholarship on offer is for a candidate to complete a PhD on audience engagement with scholarly communication, working with data to assess the impact of science news sites like The Conversation (https://theconversation.com/au) on the public understanding of academic research. The scholarship is part of a funded Australian Research Council Linkage Project led by Professor Axel Bruns from the DMRC in partnership with The Conversation and the Cooperative Research Centres Association. The QUT research team also includes Prof. Jean Burgess, Distinguished Prof. Stuart Cunningham, Prof. Patrik Wikström and Assoc. Prof. Nicolas Suzor and falls under the DMRC's Digital Methods program.

The successful candidate will receive an annual living allowance paid fortnightly for up to 3 years, tax exempt and indexed annually along with a top-up scholarship for project costs, research activities, and conference or overseas travel.
