To help support the University of Bath’s world-class research environment
and to provide doctoral training for outstanding individuals who want to
pursue professional academic careers, the School of Management is seeking
applications for its PhD Studentships. The PhD studentship will be linked
with the EPSRC ‘Cyber Security Across the Life Span’ (cSALSA) project, under
the supervision of Professor Adam Joinson.

PhD Studentships worth approximately £19,500 pa for 3 years (to cover
home/EU tuition fees, maintenance and training support grant), are open to
International, EU and UK candidates who have both (i) exceptional academic
qualifications and (ii) a strong commitment to acquiring a professional
research training to become academics.

Research interests in any field related to behavioural science and
cyber-security would be considered, with specific interest focussed on one
of the following:

   -

   -  Parent-child interaction and cyber security / privacy
   -

   -  Developmental Psychology and children’s understanding of cyber risk
   -

   -  Message framing, language and cyber security
   -

   -  Cyber security within organisations
   -

   -  Measurement of cyber-security (e.g. within organisations,
   psychometrics etc)

   It is strongly advised that potential candidates discuss possible areas
   for study with Prof. Joinson (A.Joinson at bath.ac.uk)

   Candidates should fulfil the following criteria:


   1.

   must hold at a minimum a bachelor degree (a First or Upper-second or GPA
   equivalent)
   2.

   Are fluent in English.
   3.

   Are strongly committed to, and potentially capable of, high-quality
   academic research in an area that is consistent with the cSALSA research
   project using quantitative or mixed methods.
