Call for Chapters
Rewired: Cybersecurity Governance
Editors: Dr. Ryan Ellis and Vivek Mohan
Abstracts Due February 15, 2017

Cybersecurity governance is a central concern for policymakers, corporate leaders, and civil society. The edited volume explores the governance challenges of cybersecurity through a series of detailed case studies. The volume seeks contributions that examine different governance approaches—the market, public-private cooperation, purely public interventions—in order to highlight the various successes, failures, and broader implications of these approaches. The cases should draw attention to the ways in which security interventions and governance become entangled with other sets of competing interests—such as privacy, freedom of expression, innovation, and efficiency—in order to highlight the ways in which cybersecurity is both a technical and non-technical challenges. The text is open to contributions from practitioners and academics (including social scientists, legal scholars, and computer scientists).

Areas of interest and possible chapter topics include:
· Regulatory Interventions
· Voluntary Standards
· Private-Sector Cybersecurity Efforts
· Cybersecurity and Insurance Markets
· Information Sharing
· IoT Security
· Practical Challenges: Securing Entities Across Borders
· Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence and Security

Submission procedure:
Potential authors are invited to submit chapter abstracts (500 words) and a brief bio to Dr. Ryan Ellis (r.ellis at neu.edu)<mailto:r.ellis at neu.edu)> by February 15, 2017. Authors will receive a response by March 1, with full chapters of approximately 6,000 words due on June 1.
