Dear Colleagues,
*Social Computing, Behavioral Modeling, & Prediction (SBP-BRiMS'17) *is
an annual interdisciplinary conference devoted to promoting the study of
social phenomena within the computer and information sciences, currently
in its 10th year. With grant funding for social scientists increasingly
being pointed towards such research, it provides a great opportunity to
learn about current and develop professional networks in this
interdisciplinary area. The conference will be held on July 5-8 in
Washington, D.C. at The George Washington University.
We are making an effort to encourage the participation of more social
scientists and other non-CISE scholars by making use of
generous participant support grants we have received from from multiple
agencies. A_ll scholars from non-CISE fields with accepted 2-page
extended abstracts will be reimbursed for their registration costs, and
may be eligible for additional travel support depending on need and
available resources. Abstracts will be accepted up till June 12 under a
special disciplinary diversity track._ Participants in the conference
will have the opportunity not only to familiarize themselves with work
by leading scholars, but opportunities to develop technical skills via
tutorial sessions and to meet with representatives of leading funding
agencies. For more information, please look at the attached special
Call For Papers and check the conference website <http://sbp-brims.org/>
