Assistant Professor of Communication Studies

The Department of Communication Studies of Dyson College of Arts and
Sciences at Pace University invites applications for an anticipated
tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin September
2018. The position is located at the University's New York City campus in
lower Manhattan.
Applicants should have an earned PhD or equivalent in Communication or
Media Studies. We are especially interested in candidates whose research
and teaching explore media or human communication practices as they
intersect with issues of race and ethnicity. Areas of specialization may
include but are not limited to the impact of emergent and traditional media
to empower or marginalize minority communities, the representational
politics of race, the history and agency of African-American and/or Latinx
media, or the production of identity in popular culture and entertainment
industries. The successful applicant must show a commitment to
undergraduate education and to the advancement of undergraduate research
and scholarship.

research statement, statement of teaching philosophy, three letters or
recommendation, contact information for three references, one-two writing
