   Your statement wrt psychoanalysis is inaccurate. It's discredited in*
some *circles but is far from being *totally* discredited in all circles.
There are many paths to scientific understanding and not all of them are
empirical and nomothetic. There remains a place for idiothetic methods as
well, something hard core reductionists should keep in mind when dismissing
theories that don't fit with their assumptions
