Dear Colleagues,


The Digital Societies Symposium is shaping up to be a fantastic event for researchers working in the digital space, whether it be using, studying, and/or generating digital data and methods.


We are pleased to announce that due to popular interest there will now be a Panel on the Ethics of Social Media Data. This will provide a timely opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities of using and collecting data from social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, particularly in the wake of Cambridge Analytica.


A friendly reminder to submit your abstracts before this Monday 13 August [extended deadline]. Please see attached flyer for more details.


The Symposium will be held at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra on 11 September 2018, and is generously funded through The Australian Sociological Association (TASA) in conjunction with Social Sciences Week 2018.
