define, explain and deconstruct the ‘soft power’ of museums. The
round-table talk among museum professionals and academics will aim to
demonstrate and discuss the pilot version of the award-winning dynamic web
application that was developed in partnership with the Australian Centre
for the Moving Image

(ACMI).
The app Museum Soft Power Map

enables users to explore a geographic spread of ACMI’s cultural resources
and social outputs.
Guest speakers will include *Gail Dexter Lord*, one of the world’s foremost
museum and cultural planners and President of Lord Cultural Resources, *Seb
Chan*, ACMI Chief Experience Officer, *Chris Harris*, ACMI Head of
Exhibition and Touring, *Natasha Mian*, ACMI Coordinator for the
Development team and *Eliza Coyle*, Community Programs Officer at Yarra
City Council Libraries. The VSG will be led by *Dr Natalia Grincheva*,
Research Fellow in the Research Unit of Public Cultures at the University
of Melbourne.
