[Air-L] CFP: Amsterdam Privacy Conference 5-8 Oct 2018

The Amsterdam Privacy Conference will take place on 5-8 October 2018 in the heart of Amsterdam. The goal of the conference is to bring together academics, policy makers, journalists, and practitioners to promote active discussion on timely topics, and foster debate on privacy issues between participants from various backgrounds and perspectives. The conference will include plenary sessions, parallel sessions, and panel discussions with invited speakers, as well as presentations from respondents to this call for papers.

APC 2018 is organised by the Amsterdam Platform for Privacy Research (APPR), a network of researchers at the University of Amsterdam, with active participants from diverse fields, including philosophy, law, economics, computer science, medicine, media and communication studies and social sciences. APC 2018 is the follow-up to the highly successful conferences APC 2015 and APC 2012.

The organisers invite you to submit a paper abstract or panel proposal on any of the ten conference themes:

1) The digital society and surveillance
2) Data commodification and business opportunities
3) Smart healthcare, homes and cities
4) The regulation of the information society
5) Personalized communication and behavioural engineering
6) Privacy and democracy
7) The value of privacy
8) Discrimination, inequality and immigration
9) Responsibility and control
10) Privacy enhancing technologies and encryption

The deadline for submission is 15 March 2018 (1000 words).
