Vacancies: 2 posts for research associates in the "Pioneer Communities“ research project at ZeMKI, University of Bremen
In the project "Pioneer Communities: The Quantified Self and Maker Movement as Collective Actors of Deep Mediatization“, headed by Prof. Dr. Andreas Hepp, the ZeMKI, Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research, University of Bremen advertises – subject to approval of the position – two positions for research associates (65% of regular working time) as of 1. April 2018 for the duration of the project until 31 March 2021. The application deadline is 16 February 2018.
The position is limited to the scientific qualification according to § 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz). Accordingly, only applicants can be considered who still have qualification periods according to § 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG to the corresponding extent. The opportunity for a doctorate is given.
Tasks:
Collaboration in data collection and analysis (media ethnography, qualitative interviews and content analysis) as well as in corresponding research publications.
Setting requirements:
– Above-average degree (Master) in Communications and Media Studies or Social Sciences with a media-related focus,
– Experience in empirical media and communication research or empirical social research (focus: qualitative methods),
– Project experience where possible,
– Very good language skills in written and spoken English, high level of commitment and initiative, ability to work in a team, careful and reliable working method,
– Willingness to cooperate in project management.
