Dear colleagues

What does it mean to think datafication from a Southern perspective? It is a pleasure to invite you to the Big Data from the South workshop, in Amsterdam on December 4-5, 2018.
Check out the program here: https://data-activism.net/bigdatasur/

Day 1, in particular, includes two public events open to participation: a book discussion with Nick Couldry (LSE) and Ulises Mejias (SUNY Oswego) (Can data be decolonized?, at 3pm), and a roundtable with Nick, Ulises, Merlyna Lim (Carleton University) and Payal Arora (Erasmus UniversityRotterdam) (Big Data from the South: Decolonization, Resistance and Creativity, at 8pm). All events will take place in the premises of the University of Amsterdam. Register here for the evening event: http://www.spui25.nl/spui25-en/events/events/2018/12/big-data-from-the-south-decolonization-resistance-and-creativity.html. Day 2 consists of an immersive research workshop.

You can also follow the conversation on Twitter (#BigDataSur)!

Best regards, Stefania
