I'm pleased to announce a job opening in my department in data analytics
and cognitive science.

Potential applicants may be interested to know that our department
renovated its research lab space last spring. Recent program reviewers
rated the facilities as on par with top tier PhD programs in the country.
Also, the University of Arkansas is developing an interdisciplinary degree
and research programs in data analytics.

*Summary of Job Duties*

The Department of Communication and its Institute for Communication
Research at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a full-time
tenure track Assistant Professor to begin August 2019. Applicants’ research
should address data analytics, social computational analytics, and/or
cognitive science and technology. Secondary areas of emphasis can include:
health communication, political communication, strategic communication,
social media, or civic engagement.



*Minimum Qualifications*

·       Ph.D. in Communication or related field by the time of appointment

·       Evidence of active research program

·       Evidence of competency in the classroom



*Preferred Qualifications*

·       Research commensurate with institutions holding the highest
Carnegie classification

·       Experience with grant-funded research

·       Experience with interdisciplinary and/or collaborative research
