Dear all,

Convergence: The International Journal of Research into New Media Technologies is calling for more book reviewers. I’m the current Book Reviews Editor and welcome expressions of interest from people wanting to review relevant titles.

Some recently published or forthcoming books that are up for grabs include:

*The Costs of Connection (forthcoming in 2019) by Nick Couldry and Ulises A. Mejias
*Feminist Activism and Digital Networks: Between Empowerment and Vulnerability (2017) by Aristea Fotopoulou
*Ghost Work: How to Stop Silicon Valley from Building a New Global Underclass (2019) by Mary L. Gray and Siddharth Suri
*Networked Affect (2015) edited by Ken Hillis, Susanna Paasonen and Michael Petit
*Disconnect: Facebook’s Affective Bonds (2018) by Tero Karppi
*Minitel: Welcome to the Internet (2017) by Julien Mailland and Kevin Driscoll
*NSFW: Sex, Humor, and Risk in Social Media (forthcoming in 2019) by Susanna Paasonen, Kylie Jarrett and Ben Light
*Behind the Screen: Content Moderation in the Shadows of Social Media (2019) by Sarah T. Roberts
*Lawless: The Secret Rules That Govern our Digital Lives (2019) by Nicolas Suzor
*Gender and Digital Culture: Between Irreconcilability and the Datalogical (2018) by Helen Thornham

Please email me at y.gerrard at sheffield.ac.uk if you would like to review any of the above titles, or if you would like to suggest a book that’s not on the list (though please note some reviews are underway). The reviews are expected to be between 500-1000 words and reviewers will receive a hard or electronic copy of the book.

All the best,
Ysabel
