> Kent State University’s School of Information (iSchool) invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor. The iSchool is part of the College of Communication and Information (CCI), a unique collaboration that brings together five distinct but interrelated fields of study – media, design, communication, information, and digital technologies. CCI faculty are creative, dynamic, and interdisciplinary and the iSchool seeks candidates that fully embrace the opportunities that the College offers for transdisciplinary collaboration among our fields. The iSchool features the same interdisciplinarity and collaborative spirit in our approach to research and teaching.

> The School of Information offers MS degrees in user experience design, health informatics, knowledge management, and an MLIS in library and information science. All iSchool graduate programs are offered online, including the User Experience Design (UXD) MS, and attract students from across the U.S. and internationally. All degree programs in the iSchool receive university resources for instructional design support, including UXD. The iSchool faculty also teach in an undergraduate, face-to-face UXD minor, in partnership with the School of Visual Communication Design.

> ·       Industrial design;

> The School is also interested in individuals who may utilize professional experience in one or more of these areas in their research and teaching. Service to professional organizations, the school, and the university is expected. The position also involves online teaching and working with and/or coordinating remote collaborative online teams.

> Minimum Requirements:
> Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. (official notification of completion of the degree must be received by August 15, 2020) in a field related to user experience research and design, human-computer interaction, or human factors psychology. Candidates must also provide evidence of a strong interest in or track record of teaching excellence, demonstrate potential for developing a sustained record of outstanding scholarship including publication and grant writing, as well as hold a demonstrated commitment to student success through mentoring and advising
