It would be appreciated if you could forward this call for chapters to anyone who might be interested.

Call for Chapters: Handbook of Research on Political Campaigning in the Computer Age

Purpose

Technology and particularly the Internet have brought about many changes in the realm of politics. Politicians and candidates use their own websites and social network profiles to get their message out. Politicians use political engineering and computational politics including data analytics to increase the effectiveness of their campaign. Aspects of engineering, computer science, mathematics, or natural science can be applied to political campaigning.

Potential Topics

Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

Political Campaigns in the Computer Age

• online campaigning

• online campaigning using websites and webpages

• online campaigning using social networking

• online campaigning using multimedia tools

• online campaigning using blogs

• online campaigning using vlogs

• political debates on the Internet

• virtual town hall

• virtual war room

• online fake news and cyberlibel against politicians

• case studies

• future research directions

Engineering, Math, and Science in Political Campaigning

• political engineering (application of engineering, computer science, mathematics, or natural science to politics)

• computational politics (application of computer science or mathematics to politics)

Note: These new interdisciplinary fields were first defined in this research paper:
