The Department of Media, Communications and Cultural Studies<https://www.gold.ac.uk/media-communications/> at Goldsmiths, University of London is inviting applications to our PhD programmes (MPhil/PhD in Media & Communications, MPhil/PhD in Cultural Studies).



Outstanding applicants who receive an offer of a place on a PhD programme will be invited to apply for an AHRC - CHASE award through our membership of the consortium.

To be considered for a CHASE scholarship your application to Goldsmiths must be completed by 13th January 2020.



We advise you to have contacted the department about your proposal well in advance of this deadline. Ideally, we recommend that candidates approach potential supervisors before December 2019.

Please note
You must apply for a postgraduate place for the specific programme via the standard Goldsmiths application method. This application must be made before a CHASE AHRC studentship application can be submitted. Candidates submitting to the CHASE AHRC application process who have not already applied for a postgraduate place at Goldsmiths will be deemed ineligible.

The Department is unique in its diversity of approaches to, and articulations of, the disciplinary conjunctures around media and culture. The Department has equal research strengths in media and communications and in cultural studies research, in humanities and in social sciences approaches, and in theory and practice-driven work.
