Dear all,
I hope that this email finds you safe and well in these uncertain and troubling times.
This email is an invitation to contribute to a new open access journal - ‘Digital Geography and Society’. The editorial collective of Sam Kinsley Sophia Maalsen and myself very much welcome submissions.
We are delighted to have published an excellent first article from Casey Lynch entitled Unruly digital subjects: Social entanglements, identity, and the politics of technological expertise<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/-2uIC6XQ68flyjKnTpQ7M9?domain=sciencedirect.com>.
We have published an introductory Editorial that explains our rationale for publishing in the near-term and I very much welcome any responses, as I am sure my co-editors do. Please find the Editorial here: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.diggeo.2020.100002<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/q3TRC71R63CjZ4kOHWq3gg?domain=doi.org> and our aims and scope here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/digital-geography-and-society/about/aims-and-scope<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/ygghC81Vq2C8YDR7T28Cd7?domain=sciencedirect.com>
We have another great article in press from Emily Nicolosi, Richard Medina, Colin Riley and Phoebe McNeally entitled Crowdsourcing sensitive VGI: Constructing the hate incident reporting system<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/8f29C91W8rCV2LB5sOAbea?domain=sciencedirect.com>.
We are pleased to share that this journal will waive the APC (Article Publishing Charge) through 2020. This will be applicable for any submissions received before 31st December 2020, which are accepted for publication after peer review.
We are hoping to offer a ‘Meet the Editors’ and ‘Get to know the journal’ online session soon so if you are interested please do look out for further announcements.
If you are interested in contributing to the journal as an author, editorial board member or reviewer please do get in touch – everyone is welcome. This is an interdisciplinary journal that seeks to publish social science and humanities research offering critical perspectives on the complexities and interconnected nature of digital geographies.
Best wishes
Jess McLean - on behalf of Sam Kinsley and Soph Maalsen.
