Hello AOIR list,

I’d love to collaborate with others for #AoIR2020 on a panel or another
submission type related to digital/internet research about mental
ill-health (mental illness, mental disorders, psychiatric illness etc.).

The panel/other format could explore how mental health challenges are
experienced, understood, medicalised, datafied, commercialised etc. through
digital technologies/internet life, and vice versa. (Realising that the
concept of mental illness varies in different locations, cultures,
communities, histories and politics, and is tied to (ongoing)
discrimination and violence.) It would be great to brainstorm ideas with
other internet researchers with lived experience or working from
perspectives informed by cultural studies, critical psychology, madness
studies etc.

If this might fit your work, please let me know. Best to email me directly
natalie.hendry at gmail.com (especially if you want to double check that your
response is not sent to the whole AoIR list).

With thanks

Natalie
