[Air-L] cheating students?

I agree, we need to focus on why 'cheating' is occurring. In the UK at least, with high fees, chronic instability in the grad job market, the chasing of high grades affects many students. There's an explicit encouragement of students to become 'entrepreneurial' and maximize their opportunities, whilst accumulating huge debts to pay (over the odds) for degrees that are socio-economically worth less and less. Aren't they following a neo-liberal logic of 'out-sourcing' their work?

Sure, we can get stuck into the morality of cheating, but that obscures what's at stake in our current - broken - education system.

regards
Sanjay

We should be focussing on the reasons behind / causes of such developments
rather than only the developments themselves, or on just blaming the
students, in my view.

This is a complex problem driven by the need of good students, and the
lack of morality of bad students. Mainly in systems were is not talent but
money that gets you into university, this is extensive. In Colombia, sites
like "Rincon del Vago" https://www.rincondelvago.com/ have made an industry
of cheating. Many teachers when they were studying, due to need of money,
did this to pay tuition fees. Students at schools do it to earn some money.
It is a giant black market in Latin America!
