[Air-L] new funding for our PhD program next year--can you share the news?

Our PhD program has just been allocated several more full-funded lines for PhD students in 2020-21, and we've reopened applications (american.edu/soc/admissions/graduate-apply.cfm). With stellar scholars such as Laura DeNardis, Aram Sinnreich, Saif Shahin, Filippo Trevisan, Ericka Menchen-Trevino and others, the program focuses on the intersection of media, technology and democracy. Our latest PhDs did theses on global inequality in internet exchange points, commercial uses of country-level domain names, Turkish government censorship and social media, and protest movements in India around India's digital identity card.
