Hello Friends,

In response to concerns raised by our membership, The Video Game Studies
Scholarly Interest Group will be running a free online information session
for students, practitioners, and scholars interested in presenting research
at the Society for Cinema and Media Studies 2022 conference, which will be
taking place between March 31st and April 3rd at the Fairmont Chicago
Millennium Park and Swissôtel.

The information session will take place on Tuesday August 3rd @ 12 PM PST/
2 PM CT/ 3 PM EST over Zoom, and it will feature advice for prospective
conference attendees on the drafting of panel and paper proposals that meet
conference guidelines, insight from a member of a past programming
committee, and an opportunity for current members interested in connecting
with prospective conference attendees for the purposes of collaborating on
game and gaming related panel proposals.

If you would like to share a short panel proposal (or an idea for a panel
proposal) with the Video Game Studies Scholarly Interest Group, please let
us know through email (david.murphy at ryerson.ca) by Monday August 1st @12:00
pm EST.

Short (2500 characters) proposals can be shared on your behalf, if you are
unable to attend, or over Zoom if you would like to join us.
