Dear AoIR member,
We are organizing a two-hour online expert workshop as part of an EU H2020 project called Next Generation Internet Forward on June 22, 3 PM-5 PM CET.

This workshop will be titled “DePlatforming Life” and will focus on the role of digital platforms (such as Google and Facebook) in current challenges related to legislation, democracy, privacy, and disinformation.

During the workshop, we will discuss what are the biggest challenges related to the use of digital platforms and propose potential policy solutions to these identified challenges. The workshop will conclude with a couple of lightning talks by leading researchers within the field – Geoffrey Bowker, Professor at the School of Information and Computer Science, University of California at Irvine has already confirmed his presence and more will follow.

Please respond to this email with your name, affiliation, and field of research if you are interested in attending the workshop, and we will send you an email including a Zoom link for the workshop.

On behalf of the organizing team at DATALAB

Sincerely,

Anja Bechmann
