[Air-L] [Call for Papers] Springer Book on “Mobile Communication and Online Falsehoods: Trends, Impact and Practice”

To the AOIR community,

I am editing a volume, “Mobile Communication and Online Falsehoods: Trends, Impact and Practice”, that is contracted by Springer. The book will be part of its “Mobile Communication in Asia: Local Insights, Global Implications”<https://www.springer.com/series/13350> series.

I am writing to invite members doing research on the topic of online falsehoods (e.g., fake news, misinformation, disinformation) in the context of mobile instant messaging services (MIMS) and Asia to contribute to the volume. This volume welcomes contributions that stem from different disciplines and methodologies, by established and new scholars in the field. Advanced graduate students are also encouraged to contribute to the volume. Given that non-governmental institutions in the region are doing important work in countering the influence of online falsehoods, this volume also seeks contributions from practitioners who develop initiatives or programmes in this field to counter the problem of online falsehoods.

Full chapters will run at a length of 6,500-8,000 words, and case studies/practice-focus chapters at 5,000-6,000 words. Abstract submissions are due 1 August 2021 and the book will be published in the first quarter of 2023.
