[Air-L] Indigenous/First peoples and digital data/information

I am currently doing comparative research on the governance of data flows and what requirements/criteria/principles we need to ensure nations do not become gatekeepers but that the benefits and the data is shared to benefit the global society.

My starting point is to look at the EU digital policy (in response to the US and China and the big tech companies and platforms that currently control most of the data people generate ) and compare the EU approach (and risks thereof) with other governmental initiatives being taken and how this will impact being able to address urgent societal challenges that need access to data.

I am also involved in MYDATA and these insights on the struggle to establish sovereignty for indigenous people really help to gain another perspective.
I would very much like to hear more/connect with people who are working on this too and/or could share some insights in national digital policy approaches.
