Dear all,



A great 30-month post-doc position just opened in the School of Psychology at Reading for a post-doc working with Reading and the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford on motivation, trustworthy decision-making, and AI. The work primarily involves psychology using a variety of methods (including both experimental and qualitative).



The candidate will be based at Reading and work with Prof. Netta Weinstein<https://www.reading.ac.uk/en/pcls/staff/netta-weinstein>, but will also collaborate with a project team in philosophy, law, and computer science via the Governance of Emerging Technologies<https://www.oii.ox.ac.uk/research/governance-of-emerging-technologies/> research programme at the Oxford Internet Institute<https://www.oii.ox.ac.uk/>, University of Oxford. This post will complement the project team at Oxford, Dr Brent Mittelstadt<https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=tP685zYAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao>, Professor Sandra Wachter<https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=ZXBJVqYAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao>, and Dr Chris Russell<https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=RM2sHhYAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao>, and their work on technical aspects of interpretability, transparency, and fairness in machine learning and AI.



The postdoc will be supported in leading research and subsequent publications, and working directly with industry partners. An interest in reproducible research methods is highly encouraged.
