The College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, College
Park (Maryland’s iSchool), invites applications for a full-time,
professional track lecturer, who is highly competent, energetic, collegial,
and flexible, to join our exciting environment. The Lecturer will both
teach and develop new curricula in the area of data analytics. The
successful candidate will teach three courses per semester (fall and
spring) while also working on development of new courses, programs, and
curricula in this area. Teaching load may be reduced during periods of
substantial curriculum development work.
Some of the existing classes the successful candidate might teach include:
- Statistics for Information Science
- Data Sources and Manipulation
- Introduction to Data Science
- Advanced Data Science
- Game, Entertainment, and Media Analytics
- IoT and Streaming Analytics
Some of the projects the successful candidate will work on include:
- Development of a new masters-level program in data science
- Development of a new course on data science for global health
- Development of a new course on data science for arts management
- Development of a new course on data-driven reasoning
