Deadline: November 28, 2022
The University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC) is seeking an assistant professor of journalism with an emphasis on reporting and writing—one who knows how to tell stories with impact across digital platforms and who can help us shape the next chapter of journalism education.
The ideal candidate could be a journalist with a master’s degree and a record of high-profile, award-winning work, or it could be one who holds a Ph.D. and has significant professional experience in journalism. In either case, the individual hired will help us shape the future of the reporting-and-writing core of our undergraduate major, teaching undergraduate courses focused on reporting and writing but with an emphasis on reaching audiences across a variety of digital platforms and innovative media possibilities. This individual also will contribute to teaching in our professional master’s programs in Eugene and Portland—and, as appropriate, in other areas of our undergraduate, M.A., and Ph.D. programs.
