[Air-L] Fully funded PhD position (4-years) in the project No Man's Land: Young women's mental health and social media, Uppsala University Sweden

The position is placed at the unit for Human-Computer Interaction at the Department of Informatics and Media, Faulty of Social Sciences, in the project "No Man's Land: Young Women's Mental Health" at the Department of Women's and Children's Health at the Faculty of Medicine, and WOMHER: Uppsala University Center for Women's Mental Health: https://uu. see/research/womher<https://uu.%20see/research/womher>. WOMHER is an interdisciplinary research center that promotes women's mental health, and the project "No Man's Land" focuses on understanding the significance of young women's mental ill-health as well as on explanatory factors and mechanisms behind this. The project also studies the consequences of mental illness, where the aim is to contribute with both preventive and mitigating measures. The project forms an interdisciplinary base for research on prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and other societal impact and is expected to become a resource for future generations of researchers.

The doctoral candidate will study the potential relationships between mental (ill)health and digital media use among young women. The project will collaborate with the Swedish Media Council (https://www.statensmedierad.se). The doctoral student will have access to their quantitative data on these issues, which will be supplemented with more in-depth qualitative approaches.

In order to be admitted to graduate level education in human-computer interaction, the applicant must have completed a degree at advanced level, completed course requirements of at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits at advanced level, or acquired equivalent knowledge in other ways in Sweden or abroad. A suitable background is a master's degree in human-computer interaction or in another relevant social science discipline.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong interest in young women's mental health and with an interest in interdisciplinary research. Great emphasis will be placed on the candidate's personal suitability. Desirable qualities include proven collaborative skills, initiative, independence, a reflective and analytical approach. Very good communication skills, incl. the ability to express oneself in English in both speech and writing is necessary.
