Dear colleagues,
please consider sharing this call with potential candidates.
How to write about platformisation from Africa (2)
WHAT: A fully-funded, four-day writing workshop, sponsored by the British Academy through the University of Edinburgh and the University of Cape Town. This is the second workshop in a series of workshops on this theme.
WHY: Riffing off Binyavanga Wainaina’s famous satirical essay “how to write about Africa”, the intention of this workshop is to engage in creative and generative ways with writing about digital platforms, and strengthen the network of platform scholars working on and from Africa.
WHO: Early-career researchers working on digital platforms in Africa. Priority for travel funding will be given to Africa-based scholars, but there will be a few additional spaces for researchers based elsewhere and capable of co-funding their travel.
WHERE: African Centre for Cities, University of Cape Town, South Africa
WHEN: 24–27 February 2025
APPLICATION DEADLINE: 04 October 2024
Further details about the scope of the workshop, the selection criteria, the application procedure, and the programme can be found at this link:
