[Air-L] Call for Survey Participation

Hello-

My name is Aleesa Hounshell and I am a PhD candidate in Information Studies at Dominican University (River Forest, IL). I am conducting a survey of TikTok users exploring the impact of parasocial relationships on trust in political information received from social media influencers on TikTok.

This study will be conducted in two parts. The first will be an anonymous survey via Qualtrics that should take no more than 30 minutes to complete. This software assures your answers remain anonymous. No personally identifying information will be associated with your answers and the answers themselves will be password protected that I will exclusively have access to. These questions will focus on race/ethnicity, gender, gender expression, and your library education and career. As part of the survey, you will be provided the opportunity to supply further consent and contact information if you would be interested in participating in a follow-up interview. Should you wish to be a part of a follow-up interview, these will be conducted via Zoom and recorded for accuracy. Transcriptions of these interviews will be made with the original recordings destroyed. Transcriptions will also be password protected and not connected to any of the original survey responses.

Participation in this study is greatly appreciated and will pose minimal risk to any participants. This research may be included in coursework, dissertation, journal articles, books, book chapters, or other conference proceedings. Your participation in any part of this study is completely voluntary and your consent may be revoked at any time and your answers removed from the dataset. All recordings will be deleted following the completion of the project outcomes.
