Dear AoIR community,
We are excited to announce the Call for Full and Short Papers for ACM UMAP
2025, the 33rd ACM International Conference on User Modeling, Adaptation,
and Personalization, to be held from June 16–19, 2025, in vibrant New York
City, USA.
ACM UMAP has a rich tradition of bringing together researchers,
practitioners and policy-makers from around the world to discuss the latest
developments in human-centered and personalized AI systems.
This year’s conference theme, "Shaping Personalization and FATE (Fairness,
Accountability, Transparency, and Ethics) in Human-Centered Generative AI,"
focuses on advancing interactive systems that adapt to human needs while
fostering inclusivity, fairness, and sustainability. While we encourage
submissions related to this theme, the scope of the conference is not
limited to the theme only.
We warmly invite researchers, practitioners and policymakers to contribute
cutting-edge work in:
-
Generative AI, LLMs and NLP for User Modeling, Adaptation and
Personalization
-
Ethical and Sustainability Issues in Human-centered AI Systems
-
Recommender Systems

Long papers (8 pages + references) should report on substantial
contributions of lasting value.
Short papers (4 pages + references) typically discuss exciting new work
that is not yet mature enough for a long paper.
Why Submit to ACM UMAP?
ACM UMAP provides a prestigious platform to showcase your work and connect
with leaders in AI, HCI, and beyond.
Accepted papers are presented in dynamic sessions, offering opportunities
for deep engagement and impactful discussions.
Accepted papers, both full and short, will also be included in the main
conference proceedings published in the ACM Digital Library.
… and last but not least, ACM UMAP 2025 will take place on Roosevelt Island
<https://www.um.org/umap2025/venue/> in the heart of New York City, and
what better time to visit the city that never sleeps than at the start of
summer?
