Oregon State University (OSU) invites applications for a full-time 9-month, 1.0 FTE, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Public Policy with a focus on Technology, AI, and Science Policy. OSU is internationally recognized for its innovative research in robotics and artificial intelligence, offering a dynamic interdisciplinary environment for scholars dedicated to addressing the complex policy challenges posed by emerging technologies. This position is a strategic addition to OSU's commitment to understanding and shaping the societal and governance implications of advanced technologies. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of policy frameworks that address the ethical, equity, and social dimensions of technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence, specifically within the U.S. policy landscape. Expertise in policy theory, program analysis, and the societal impacts of technology is essential, with a focus on how these advancements interact with social values and public interest. Applications must include a curriculum vitae, cover letter, statement of research (including contributions to OSU's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals), statement of teaching (1-2 pages, detailing teaching philosophy and commitment to DEI), and a writing sample or publications.
