CPF: NordMedia 2025 conference temporary working group (TWG):

*Digital Technologies, Materiality, and the Environment*


NordMedia 2025 conference will be organized in Odense, Denmark, August 
13-15 2025.

Our newly established temporary working group “Digital Technologies, 
Materiality, and the Environment” is calling for contributions (papers, 
panels, and workshops).

/The TWG investigates questions at the nexus of digital 
communication technologies and their environmental responsibility. 
Recent research has started to question the amalgamation of 
digitalization and sustainability by revealing the environmental 
consequences of digital technologies from increasing energy consumption 
to accumulating e-waste and broader infrastructural dependencies. This 
TWG seeks to bring together researchers working at the intersection of 
digital technologies and the environment fromthe perspective of media 
and communication research, with a specific attention to the material 
aspects of digital technologies.
