[Air-L] Nextdoor API access for academic research?

Hi folks,

Has anyone been granted access to Nextdoor’s API for academic research?

It’s been almost a month since I requested access and I haven’t heard anything (despite a follow up about 10 days ago). I see buried on a subpage<https://developer.nextdoor.com/reference/displaying-availability> that the API is in a closed beta, but I don’t know if that’s still accurate (that statement is at least three months old, according to the “last updated” info on the page).

I also see that this piece<https://journalqd.org/article/view/5891> about Nextdoor in JQD:DM from 2024 scraped data rather than collecting through an API, so I figure there’s a decent chance that Nextdoor hasn’t given any researchers access to the API yet.
