Dear community members,

Is it your first AOIR at Sheffield? You’re not alone!

Join us for the First Timers Meet-Up on day one of the conference—October
31st, during lunchtime. Grab your lunch box from The Octagon (our daily
lunch spot) and head over to the INOX Lounge Area—just a short 2-minute
walk down the corridor. Don’t worry; the directions will be clear during
the day! The plan is to hang out for an hour before the afternoon
sessions—a chill chance to connect and chat with friendly faces. Look out
for me, Tom Divon (AoIR's PhD representative), and Ludmila Lupinacci (from
the University of Leeds) for more details.

We fully recognize the magnitude of this conference, with its vast array of
panels and people. It can certainly feel overwhelming at first—but rest
assured, everyone is navigating this shared experience together. So come
